First word
So we are back up and running and this is my first post in a very long time. Whaaaaaaaaahoooooooooo! I am so excited!!! So Ruthie said her first word yesterday and guess what it was???? Maaaaama. It was very cute. I must say that words can not express what it is like to hear your babies heart beat for the first time or the first time she calls out to you….mama. I am enjoying this motherhood thing more and more.

Becoming A Father-3 Months In
Wow. That’s all I can say. Wow.
There just aren’t words for the experience that we have just come through and are in the middle of. The pregnancy was one amazing process. The birth was something else entirely - the most intense, creative, scary, joyful, spiritual experience - and we made it through.
Then came the sleepless, bleary-eyed, “oh-my-lord-I-don’t-know-what-to-do” weeks, which happened to be mixed with plenty of “she-is-the-most-amazingly-beautiful-expression-of-God’s-love-in-my-arms” moments.
And here we are almost 3 months later and my daughter has become the joy and delight of my life. I love her in ways I didn’t know I could love someone. Her smile, giggles, little coos and her sweet little hands stop me dead in my tracks and cause me to give thanks repeatedly. I am amazed at how something so little and helpless can give out so much love. I am excited each day, because I know there is another new discovery right around the corner.
On top of this, the Lord has blessed us with an amazing living situation. I am now working full-time from home. Dana is not going back to work and Ruth is stoked that her parents are together under the same roof as she is.
And to sum it all up, a quote from Bob Marly:
“Thank you, Lord, for what you’ve done for me. Thank you, Lord, for what you’re doin’ now. Thank you, Lord, for every little thing. Thank you, Lord, for you make me sing!”

Paper Plates and Motherhood
I never really liked using paper plates. I have always felt they were picnics and camping, right? Plus if you have dishes and a dishwasher why not use the real thing? Maybe it is the Jackie O in me. Well since having a baby I have changed my ways on many things this being one of them. I LOVE,LOVE, LOVE PAPER PLATES. They are a new moms best friend. Screw washing dishes I would rather spend more time with my baby girl.
